This past weekend marked our annual weekend at the Lincoln Cabins. It's hard to believe that we have been going there for around 25 years! It's such a fun tradition, and just really neat watching all the kids discover the same things that my sister, cousins, and I did, when we were younger. Once again, the weekend was spent with my entire family, and the entire Werner/Jones family. We arrived Thursday afternoon and left Sunday afternoon. It was definitely a hot weekend, but at least the evenings/nights still cooled down enough to make it comfortable sitting around the campfire.
Thursday, after we unpacked everything, we headed down to the lake with the kids, to see if there were any fish around. There were some really small fish and a few bigger fish that we guessed were spawning. The evening was spent sitting around the campfire.
Easton's 1st time camping!
Check out the awesome high chair Aunt Katie bought for him to use!
He LOVED this thing!
Adi, Owen, Avari, and Gavin climbing at the playground.
(I'm pretty sure I have a picture just like this of me, Emily, and our cousin, Lisa Hoppenjans doing this same thing when we were younger.)
Easton checking out the sand...and seeing how it tastes!
His verdict...not very good! Haha

Uncle A-Dawg pushing Avari, Owen, and Kenley on the tire swing.
(I'm pretty sure this is probably the same tire swing my cousins and I played on too.)
Aden joined in on the ride.

What's camping without playing Angry Birds on a smart phone?!?
Boy have things changed! : )
His shirt (well his cousin, Kaden's shirt) definitely suited him this weekend!
If you can't see it, it says, "You'd be DIRTY too, if you were this close to the ground"
Ethan watching as Owen, Adi, Aden, Avari, and Gavin traced the letters on the sign.
Saturday morning, Owen, Avari, Addison, and Gavin had their last t-ball game, so most of us headed to the Ferdinand ball fields. After their game, the received their medal and cookie. Then we all headed back to the cabins. After lunch, we spent most of the afternoon at the beach. First the kids played in the water with the dads. This was Easton's first time in any type of water, beside a bath, and he loved it! Then the guys went to play volleyball, and us girls took the kids on the paddle boats. Brooke, Josh, and Lily, came to visit, as well as Lindsey, Jillian, and Colson (Nick came down after he responded to a work situation), so they all joined us in the activities. Owen and Avari had a lot of fun on the paddle boats. They even tried to help pedal and steer. By the time we got done paddle boating...and fishing a cell phone out of the lake (yes, you read that correctly), the guys were almost done playing volleyball. We let the kids play in the water for a little bit, before heading back to the cabins. Luckily, my parents had come down to the beach, so the took Easton back with them for a much needed nap.

Easton was having so much fun!
My baby girl!
My little men!
Easton and Ethan had the same pajamas, so of course we had to take a picture! : )
Ethan, Adi, Owen, Avari, Gavin, and Kenley watching the farm guy saw open a gourd to see what was inside.
Avari, GAvin, Kenley, Adi, and Owen getting the broken seeds, and the "guts" the were in the gourd.
Now they are feeding them to the chickens.
Easton had to check out the chickens too.
Just like the last 20-some years, it was another fun-filled weekend at the cabins, and none of us can wait until next year to do it all over again!! Some things have definitely changed over the years, but we always look forward to going back! 365 more days, and counting! : - D
