Our week between Christmas and New Year's Eve was pretty laid back. Alvin was off because that's Toyota's winter shutdown, and I didn't have any kids to watch. One of the great things about watching teachers' kids, and having a brother-in-law that saves his vacation days. :-) We basically just hung out at home, playing with the kids' new toys, and trying to find places for all of them.
Thursday afternoon, mom, Katie, Adam, and the dogs came up. Katie likes to let the dogs run around in our backyard, since it's fenced in. They enjoy running around with Sadie...well Paisley does, Harper usually just sits and watches. Dad came up after he got home from work, and they looked at what we got for Christmas. That evening, we all went into to the Schipps' house to see what they received. We spent the rest of the evening hanging out, and playing games.
Saturday evening, we met my family at the Ferdinand Legion for supper. Then they all came back to our house, for awhile. Katie, Adam, and their four-legged kids headed back to Virginia early Sunday morning because they both had to work on Monday. It was so great having them both home. We were glad to hear that they made it home safely, and can't wait until they come home to Indiana again!
Sunday, after church, we headed to the KofC in Jasper for the Hartings' Christmas. It was great seeing everyone that was able to make it. Santa (aka my uncle Tony) even made a visit and handed out presents to the little kids. They all loved having him show up. And I must say, he definitely makes a good Santa!
Trying to get the great grandkids in a picture with Santa is not easy! :-)
