St.Nick brought SNOW!

This year, St. Nick not only brought gifts, he also brought snow and ice!
The kids were excited to see what St. Nick had brought them, and got even more excited to see snow.  School was cancelled for Owen and Avari, which neither one was too happy about...Avari because she didn't get to go to school, and Owen because his Christmas vacation is now one day shorter.  Since Southeast Dubois and Hancock County, KY schools were cancelled I didn't have Carter, Mason, or Lance.  Then I found out that Adam was staying home, so it ended up just being me and the kids, until Alvin woke up, which was really nice.  Alvin ended up not having to go to work Friday night.  Because of the weather, Toyota couldn't get parts, so they cancelled.
We spent most of Friday inside, but the kids did convince us to let them go outside for a little while in the evening.

Avari -headband, nail polisher with dryer, and apron

Saturday morning, Alvin cleared off our driveway, while I got stuff ready to take the kids' Christmas card picture.  Since we actually had snow, before I ordered our Christmas cards, I really wanted to get pictures in the snow for them.  After I took the kids' pictures at our house, we went to my parents' house to take a family picture.  I think they turned our really nice.
Or course they couldn't go outside without playing in the snow for a little bit. ;-)

After pictures, Alvin got his 4-wheeler, and cleared off my parents' driveway.  That evening, we decorated my parents' tree.  The Schipps came out to help too.
Our little helpers.
Easton was tired, so he wasn't in the mood to help decorate the tree.  He preferred to sit and watch.
Avari wanted to go on my shoulders to put an ornament on the tree.  Once she got on my shoulders, she wouldn't let go to put the ornament on the tree.  Even after Emily said she would hold onto to her, she still wouldn't let go.  She didn't even want to let go, so that I could put her down.  It was pretty funny.  I don't know why she got scared because she goes on our shoulders a lot.

Sunday, we went to church.  Sunday school was cancelled because of the weather, which Avari was disappointed about.  After church, we headed to Jasper.  We went to Hallmark, so the kids could pick out their ornaments.  This year, Avari choose an Ariel (The Little Mermaid) ornament, Easton got a Mickey Mouse ornament, and Owen picked a, Army helicopter ornament.  After the ornaments were bought, we got something to eat.  Then we headed to the Jasper Skate Palace for McKenna and Danika's birthday party.  McKenna is my cousin, Janelle's daughter, and they were celebrating her 1st birthday.  Danika is Janelle's stepdaughter and they were celebrating her 8th birthday.  The kids had fun TRYING to skate. Haha  After the party, we went to Walmart, before heading head, to decorate our tree.

She had to go on my shoulders again, but did much better this time. :-)

The kids didn't have school again on Monday or Tuesday.  Owen went back to school on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday.  Avari's preschool was closed on Wednesday yet because the parking lot was still cover with ice and very slick.
The Schipps came back on Monday, and we spent part of the afternoon playing outside.

Owen wanted a picture with his big icicle.
Easton thought it was a freeze pop.
