After getting back from Florida, Owen spent almost all day Saturday with Papaw Schum. I think he might have missed him just a little bit. ;)
Adi turned 6 on June 12. I was going to take them to the free kids movie at Jasper Cinemas, but the kids wouldn't get moving, so we missed it. Instead we went to the park for a little while. Then I took them to the free kids movie at the Ferdinand Library. Emily made cupcakes, so I took them along to the park.
Avari, Adi, and Kenley were playing with Avari's play make-up, when Easton decided to join in on the fun. Obviously, he needs a little lesson on how to put make-up on correctly. :)
Camping
June 14-16, we went camping at Lincoln with the Jones family. We all love having a camper, and are not tiring of camping yet. It makes it even more fun having another family that goes with us, even though it usually causes some really late nights. Lol It seems like every time we have gone, at least one night us adults are sitting around the campfire until 2:00-3:00 in the morning. It's nice having that time to talk, without being interrupted by the kids...not so much fun when the kids still get up early the next morning though. :)
Alvin had to work Friday night, so we slept a little while in the morning. After he woke up, and we had lunch, we all decided to go to Holiday World because it was hot. Our thinking was that we would rather have the kids (and us) play in the water at Holiday World, rather than in the lake at Lincoln. Plus, since we all have season passes, nobody had to pay to get in. We stayed for a few hours, and then headed back to the campsites. Shortly after we got back, my family came down to visit. We all had a nice evening.
That Sunday, after we got home from camping, we unpacked, and made supper. Alvin's family got together for Father's Day on Saturday, but since we were camping, we missed it. So, we made supper and took it out to Alvin's parents' house. After we ate, the boys stayed there, while Avari and I went to the Heimatfest Queen Pageant. Addison was competing in the Little Miss, and we wanted to watch her. She didn't win, be she did an awesome job on stage. I definitely couldn't get up on stage in front of a room full of people at that age...heck, I don't even want to do it at my age. :)
Happy Father's Day!
SonWest Round-Up Vacation Bible School
The week of June 17-21, the Owen and Avari had Vacation Bible School. This year I helped out with the babysitting. They had plenty of girls, but needed an adult, so I was asked. One thing I can tell you is that they girls that volunteer to babysit, LOVE kids, especially babies! Even though they might be a little smothering, they all did a great job. Thank goodness because I pretty much babysat Easton every day. Most of you might already know this, but Easton is NOT a people person. He usually doesn't go to anyone but Alvin, my mom, or myself. So being around a bunch of girls, who are complete strangers, and want to take him everywhere, was not going to happen. :) He did play with the other little ones though, so that was a good thing.
Owen and Avari really enjoyed Bible school. They had a lot of fun making all the crafts, learning and songs, and listening to the Bible stories (I'm pretty sure they enjoyed seeing Aunt Nettie at Bible stories). Avari is still singing the songs. Usually they having the Bible school closing, on Friday evening, but because of the Heimatfest being the same weekend, they moved it to 11:30 Friday morning. They didn't want to interfere with anyone who wanted to go to the Heimatfest. It made it a little confusing for me because, I had to find the parents, or other family member, of the kids that were in the babysitting room, so that I could watch the closing program. One perk about being a volunteer was that there were a couple of pews in the front reserved for us. So after I found a family member for the kids, I didn't have to worry about finding a seat. That turned out to be a good thing because Alvin over slept, so he didn't make it in time to save seats. After the program ended, we were all invited to grab a hamburger, drink, and cupcakes. We could take it to go, or hang out there and eat it. Alvin and I decided to leave. He took the kids to the park, while I ran up to Wendy's to get some french fries to go with our hamburgers. After we all ate, we let the kids play at the park for a little while, before heading home for naps.

Ferdinand Heimatfest
Friday evening, June 21, Avari, Easton, and I went to the Heimatfest with the Schipps. Owen wanted to ride his 4-Zinger, so Alvin was going to bring him in before he left for work. Well, they rode their 4-wheelers down to my parents' house, and Owen decided he wanted to stay there, instead of go to the Heimatfest. The main reason we went was because we want to watch the Lip Sync contest, and the magic show. Danny, Nettie, and Lance were also there, so after the magic show, I let Avari go on the inflatables with Lance. Easton wanted to go to, until he got up there. Then he changed his mind. :)
We went back to the Heimatfest Saturday evening because Owen and Avari wanted to do the Kiddie Tractor Pull. Avari ended up backing out, which was no big surprise, but Owen enjoyed doing it. He got put in the 46-65 weight class, and since he is at the low end of that group, we competed against several bigger kids. He didn't win, but still had fun, and pulled it 30 feet. We are proud of how far he actually went.
After the tractor pull, we got something to eat, and watched Adi perform with the other Little Miss/Mister contestants. They did their catwalks and dance that they performed at the pageant on Sunday. They were all really cute! Then let the kids play on the inflatables and the playground the rest of the night.

Easton finally went down the slide when they said that one of us could go with him.
If you can't tell, by the expression on his face, Easton loved it! :)
Katie's Home
Katie was home from June 22-24. She had to fly to the state of Washington during the week, and was able to stop here on her way back. We were all excited to see her, but I think her nieces and nephews were the most excited!
On Sunday, we went to Homestead with them, after church. Later that afternoon, we went to my parents' house to visit, eat supper, and celebrate birthdays, since Katie wasn't/won't be home for most of them.

Princess Dance Camp
Tuesday, June 25-Thursday, June 27, Avari attended Princess Dance Camp" and the Dance Central Academy. She loved it! She is still talks about it, and is still doing some of the dance moves she learned. She said that she wants to go back next year. She also now wants to take dance classes, instead of gymnastics. For right now we are sticking with gymnastics, but I'm pretty sure dance classes are in our very near future...that girl loves to dance! At dance camp, they did crafts, read princess stories, had snack time, and learned some dance steps.
Lydia and Avari dancign to "Under the Sea".
