Christmas Time 2011

We hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas!  Ours was wonderful.  This past month Owen and Avari learned about the meaning of Christmas in their Sunday School class, and enjoyed telling us what they learned and showing us the Christmas related projects they made.  They also participated in the Children's Mass on Christmas Eve, which was really cute!  We also enjoyed spending time with our family and friends.

Here is a rundown of our Christmas weekend:
On Friday, Dec. 23, Katie and A-Dawg (her Adam) took Avari and Kenley to Build-A-Bear.  Katie is their Godmother, and that was part of their Christmas present.  Avari had a lot of fun!  Katie said as soon as she saw Build-A-Bear she got really excited.  She told me before she left that she was going to make a Hello Kitty, and that's exactly what she did.  To make it even better, and found a Tinkerbell outfit for her to wear!  Anyone that knows Avari, knows that she LOVES Tinkerbell.  Katie had tried talking her into a pair of pajamas, but once she saw the Tinkerbell outfit, it was all over, and their was no changing her mind!  While Avari was with Katie, the boys and I hung out at home, until Alvin woke up.  Then I laid Easton down for a nap, and Alvin took Owen to look at tractors, and other things, so that I could wrap presents.  Of course, shortly after they left, Katie and Adam came home with Avari...go figure. :)  Luckily they were nice enough to take Avari down to my parents' house, so I could continue wrapping presents.  That evening, we all went to my parents' house to visit some more with Katie and Adam.

On Christmas Eve morning, Alvin had to go to the farm, and I had to help my parents' bring some gifts for the kids down from upstairs, so Alvin took Owen and Avari with him, and I took Easton with me.  That afternoon, we headed to church for the Children's Mass.  As I mentioned above, Owen and Avari were participating in it, as well as Addison and Lance.  They were part of the choir, and while Owen wasn't too excited about it (I think it's a guy thing), Avari couldn't wait to do it!  She had been practicing all week...Owen not so much (again, I think it's a guy thing).  They did really well, and it was really cute!
Is this one of the CUTEST Santas you've ever seen or what?!?!

After church, my parents came up for supper, and to watch the kids open their gifts from us.  Avari was especially excited about opening presents, and really couldn't wait.  Apparently she didn't think Easton was opening his gifts fast enough because she was constantly trying to help him!  Lol  When it was finally her turn, we didn't have to do anything!  She would carry her present to the front of the tree, open it, get all excited, set it to the side, throw the wrapping paper away, and get another gift.  She did this until the last one because it was too big for her to carry.  Luckily, she has a great big brother.  Owen carried it to the front of the tree for her.  Owen was excited to see what he got too, but was a little calmer about it than Avari. :)  After the gifts were opened, we spent the rest of the evening putting toys together, and playing.
Easton opening his very first present!
He loved the paper!

Avari with her presents from us.
Owen with his presents from us.
(Yes, he has a purple LeapPad, but when you're looking for the hottest toy of the season, you have to take what you get!  Luckily, after we told him that we could get him a blue cover for it, he was fine with keeping it. :) )
Leaving some snacks and drinks for Santa and his Reindeer.
Owen said we needed 9 carrots sticks, in case Rudolph was along, and that we needed 9 inches of water for the reindeer. Lol

Christmas morning, we awoke to find that Santa had paid us a visit.  The kids couldn't wait to open their presents!
Easton got a jumperoo.
Owen got the Imaginext Bat Cave.
Avari got a Smart Cycle.
All three got Pop the Pig, and a game for the Leapster/LeapPad.

They all loved their new toys, and couldn't wait to play with them.  Unfortunately, they had to wait until that night because we had Christmas parties to go to.
We went to Alvin's parents' house for Christmas lunch.  After eating, and what seemed like an eternity to the kids, it was time to open presents.

After gifts, we tried to get a picture of the Boeglin cousins....TRIED being the key word!  But what can you expect with 6 kids ages 5-1/2 months to 5 years old. :)

We went to my parents' house for Christmas dinner.  And again, after eating, and what seemed like an eternity to the kids, it was present time again.  This year, Christmas was extra special on my side because Adam W. was finally in the United States at Christmas time, and able to join us for Christmas!

It's hard to believe that Christmas has already come and gone!  But, like I said in the beginning, we had a wonderful holiday, and we hope everyone else did too!  MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
