We would like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy new year! This past year has been filled with many great things for us, among them, we welcomed Adam back from Afghanistan and we welcomed Easton into the world! We can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for us!
Katie and Adam were home the week between Christmas and New Year's, so it was nice getting to spend more time with them. Monday, my parents watched the kids, while Alvin and I went to French Lick with Katie, Adam, Emily, Adam, April, Thad, Amber, and Mike. The plan was to go to the winery and then go go-karting. Well, that changed when we found out that he winery is closed on Monday. Instead, we went to the Black Buggy, and then went go-karting. Afterwards, we stopped at a bar on Brick Street for a a drink. It was a lot of fun! The kids also had a lot of fun playing with grandma and grandpa!
Wednesday, Alvin had to work during the day. The kid and I had chiropractor appointments that morning. Since I still had Adi and Kenley, and mom was off work, she decided to come along and we took the kids to McDonald's after the appointments. Surprisingly, all five kids did really well at McDonald's...that doesn't always happen!

Thursday evening, we went into the Schipps' house to eat supper with them and the Wickizers. It was nice being able to visit with Katie and Adam again before they headed back to Virginia on Friday morning.
Friday Alvin had to work again. That morning, Lindsey, Jillian, and Colson came over to visit and play. Adam was off work, but he dropped Adi and Kenley off so that they could play with Jillian and Colson too. The kids had a lot of fun playing together. Lindsey and I enjoyed catching up with each other because it had been quite awhile, since we had seen each other. That afternoon, my parents took Owen and Adi to see the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie, Chipwrecked, and to McDonald's.
Saturday evening/night, we rang in the New Year with our friends by hosting an "Ugly Sweater" party. It was a lot of fun, and a great way to say good bye to 2011, and hello to 2012!

New Year's Day, Danny took the whole family to Golden Corral for lunch. He had been taking the family out to eat on New Year's Day for many years now. Thank you very much for doing this Danny!
After lunch, we headed to the Jasper Outdoor Rec., for the Hartings' Christmas party. As always, we all had a good time! This year, we even had a special visitor join the party for a little bit! Santa Claus (aka my Uncle Tony) made an appearance. He even brought a candy cane for each one of the kids! Surprisingly, none of the kids were scared of him!
