The last two weekends have been spent decorating for Christmas. The first weekend we decorated our house, and the next weekend we decorated my parents' house.
Friday afternoon, Dec. 2, I didn't have any babysitting kids, so we went to Weyer Tree Farm to pick out our Christmas tree. We let Owen and Avari pick our tree this year, and after about 3-4 different trees, they finally agreed on one. That evening, the kids and I went into the Schipps' house. We were going to take the kids to watch the town Christmas tree be lit, but didn't make it there. Instead we just hung out at their house.
Saturday morning, Owen and Avari decorated their Christmas tree, while Easton took a nap. After lunch, while Easton took his afternoon nap, Owen and Avari played outside, while I started hanging up the outdoor decorations. It was definitely a lot nicer doing it in almost 60 degree weather, rather than in 30-40 degree weather! Alvin helped me finish putting up the decorations, when he got home from Evansville. He had to go to Ivy Tech to take a test, in hopes of getting a maintenance position at work. That evening, we went to Jasper, so the kids could pick out their Hallmark ornament. We went to Grandy's for supper, and they had a Giving Tree there. We usually try to get a card off the tree at church, but they were all gone by the time we got up there. We decided to pick one off the one at Grandy's. While I would have loved to take them all, (they were all for kids in need) we finally decided on a 5 year old little boy. So, after we ate and got the kids' ornaments, we went to Walmart to pick out items for the little boys. Needless to say, we got him everything he NEEDED, as well as everything he WANTED. Hopefully he will now have a happy Christmas!
Sunday, after church and Sunday school, we went to Alvin's parents' house for lunch, and to visit for awhile. That afternoon and evening we decorated our Christmas tree and the inside of our house.

Owen thought this was a good place to hang our stockings. :-)
Tuesday morning, Dec. 6, the kids woke up to find that St. Nick had found them!

Friday, Dec. 9, Owen had his Preschool Christmas program. Luckily, Alvin was able to take off work for 1/2 the night this year, so he could go along. All the kids did great, and it was really fun to watch! After they were done singing, Santa Claus showed up. Each kid got to sit on his lap, and tell him what he/she wanted for Christmas. Then Santa handed them a gift from Mrs. Brenda. They each received a book, pencil, eraser, sucker, and an apple. It was very thoughtful of Mrs. Brenda to give them something.
Waiting to start singing.

Saturday afternoon, we went to Walmart to pick up our Christmas cards that were ready. Afterwards, we went to my parents' house to help them decorate for Christmas. The Schipps were also there to help. Alvin and Owen helped put up the outside stuff, while I watched the younger one's inside. Alvin had to work that night, so he left after they were done outside. The kids and I stayed to help decorate the tree. The kids had a lot of fun helping and playing.

Batman's (aka Owen) turn to put an ornament on the tree.
Easton sat on Mamaw's lap to supervise. :-)
Sunday, I took Owen to Sunday school, while Avari, Easton, and I went to church. For some reason, Avari didn't want to go to Sunday school during 8:30 mass, but wanted to go during 10:30 mass. Luckily, my parents were going to the mass to they picked up Owen and Avari and took them. Owen liked that he got to go twice in the same day. That afternoon, Alvin watched the kids, while I went Christmas shopping in Evansville with Emily, April, Brooke, and Becca (our cousin's girlfriend). It was a fun day with the girls! It sounded like Alvin and the kids had fun spending the day at home too.
Tuesday, was Owen's last day of preschool, until January. He had show and tell, and they were told to bring their favorite toy. Although, Owen's choice changed every day, he finally decided on the Spider-man jet he got for his birthday. They practiced the number 4, had show-and-tell, and got to watch a Tom and Jerry Christmas movie. They have now learned more about the letters A-K and the numbers 1-4.
