This past weekend we were able to spend time with both sides of our family.
Saturday, late morning, we went to my parents' house to cut firewood. When the electric company came through and put new poles up, they took down some of the trees around the farm. Alvin and Adam cut them up, and threw them in the loader bucket. Then dad unloaded them into the barn. We should have enough firewood for several camping trip now. :-)
While the guys work on firewood, Emily, the kids, and I walked through the fields and creek, from the back of the barn to the top of the hill by the highway. The kids loved it, and it brought back memories of all the times we walked through those fields when we were growing up. They also had fun playing in the sandbox, and just running around outside. After the firewood was down, we trimmed some branches and bushes, and cut down some little trees that were growing around my parents' house.
After all the work was done, dad gave the kids tractor rides. Of course, they all LOVED that!

They had to climb up the hill, just to see the traffic on the highway.

He couldn't wait for grandpa to give him a tractor ride!

Easton got to pick up the sticks.
We spent the rest of the evening and night, hanging out with the Boeglin family. The kids had a lot of fun playing with their cousins. They all played together very well....thanks to Nettie, and the glow sticks that she brought. ;-)
Easton, Owen, Avari, Kennedy, Kaden, and Lance watching grandpa open his presents.
Who knew glow sticks could be so much fun, and provide an evening worth of entertainment?!?!
The kids played with them almost all evening.

They had the lights of, but I guess my flash was too bright.
Sunday, after church, we went to Chicago's Pizza, with my family. That afternoon, Emily and I went to our cousin, Janelle's house, for a Pampered Chef fundraiser for our Relay team. Alvin and the kids went to my parents' house, so that him and Adam could get the campers out, and get them ready to go camping. Our family is READY to go camping, we are just waiting for Mother Nature to decide it's time to warm up!
We spent the evening hanging out at home. Owen and Avari were really excited to get to stay up late, since they are on Spring Break next week.
