Purple Up / Coloring Contest

Monday, April 15, was Purple Up Day.  It was a day that you were suppose to wear purple to show support for military kids.  Ferdinand Elementary joined in, and encouraged students to wear purple.

Purple up!

Also, that day, Owen gave home from school with news that we was so excited about.  Apparently that colored a picture for a coloring contest held by the American Legion Auxillary, and they announced the winners.  We are very proud to say that Owen got 2nd place!  He was so excited!  I think a little bit because he won, but more so because he received $10 and a certificate. : )  Hopefully they will get to bring the picture home sometime because we haven't seen it.  Also, be looking for his picture in the Ferdinand News because Owen said that someone from there took pictures of the winners.
