Last Soccer Game, Christkindlmarkt, & Baptism

This past weekend was beautiful, and we made the most out of it.

On Friday evening, was the opening ceremony of the Christkindlmarkt.  The grade school students were invited to walk with battery operated candles from the grade school to the monastery, so Owen, Adi, Emily, and I volunteered.  It was pretty neat.  The angel appeared announcing the start of the Christkindlmarkt.  The opening ceremonies also including some dancing angels, a nutcracker, and the trumpeters.  Afterwards, the kids that walked received a card for some free hot chocolate and a cookie.  Owen got his, and than we headed back to Emily and Adam's house.

Saturday morning Avari had her last soccer game.  Since it was their last game, the kids got to ask someone to play with them.  Avari chose me, so I got to coach and play. : )  We played a ten minute game.  Then they received their trophies and cookies.  Avari did a little better at this game, as in she actually kicked the ball a couple of times!  She says that soccer isn't really a sport she likes. : -)

After soccer, I dropped Owen and Easton off at my parents' house.  Avari and I went to the Christkindlmarkt with Emily and Kenley.  Avari and Kenley last through two places, and then were ready to go home.  We took them back to Emily and Adam's house, and got them some lunch.  Then Emily and I went back to the Christkindlmarkt for awhile.  Avari played with Kenley until Adam had to pick up Addison from my parents' house, and drop Avari off there.  The kids played at my parents' house until I got back because Alvin was at the farm.
That evening, the kids and I met Alvin at his parents' house.  Doretha's birthday was on Nov. 19, so we ordered pizzas to celebrate a little early.  Kevin, Kristin, and the kids also came over.  Owen, Avari, and Easton had a lot of fun playing (and making a BUNCH of noice) with Kennedy and Kaden, and Kambry slept through it all.

Sunday morning, Kambry got baptized after church.  After her baptism, we went to Kevin and Kristin's house for lunch.  We spent the rest of the afternoon visiting, while the kids played.  Alvin and Owen left for a little while, to go to the Toy Farm Machinery show at the 4-H Fairgrounds.  They have been going with my dad (and sometimes my mom) every year for the past four years, and Owen did not want to miss it.  They met my parents there, browsed and bought, and then came back to Kevin and Kristin's.  It was such a beautiful day that the kids spent most of the afternoon outside.
