Spring Mill & Soccer

This past weekend, we enjoyed some family time, soccer, and celebrating Alvin's birthday.
Saturday we went to Spring Mill State Park with my family.  My parents have been wanting to go there for awhile now, and we finally found a weekend that worked for all of us.  We just wish Katie and Adam would have been able to make it too.  We had a picnic lunch when we got to the park, and then we toured the Pioneer Village, and finished our visit by letting the kids play on the playground.  Everyone seemed to have a great time!  On our way home we let Alvin decide where we should eat at because it was his birthday.  He chose Pizza Hut (with a little persuasion from the kids).  We all went to my parents' house when we got home for birthday cake and ice cream, to finish celebrating Alvin's birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALVIN!!

On Sunday, Avari started Sunday school again.  She was really excited to be going back, and Owen was a little disappointed that he can't go anymore because he is in kindergarten now.  He does go to Children's Liturgy of the Word during the first part of mass though, and he enjoys that.  After church, Owen had his first Kiwanis soccer game.  He did great!!  I really didn't know how he would do because he's not very aggressive, and when he played at the Y he would usually just hang back and not run after the ball.  This time, he was really into the game!  He ran after the ball, and kicked it several times.  The kindergarten teams don't have a goalie or keep score.  They have 7 kids on each team, and only play 4 at a time, so during the 45 minute games, each kids has some time to sit out and rest.  Owen said he had a lot of fun playing soccer!

He was actually kicking it when I took this pic.

After soccer, Alvin and Owen went out to the farm.  Alvin had a list of things to do out there, and Owen wanted to go along.  Avari, Easton, and I went home for a little bit, and then went back to the soccer fields to watch Adi play soccer.  After her game Easton and Avari took naps.  That evening we picked up food, and went to the farm.  We visited with Alvin's mom for a little bit, and then I took all the kids home, while Alvin helped his dad do a few more things.
