Monster Jam

Rub-a-dub-dub three KIDS in a bath!
Owen wanted to feed Easton his baby food, just like he did with Avari when she was a baby.

Friday night we went to Kevin and Kristin's house.  Alvin applied for a maintenance position at work, and found out last week that he had advanced to the next phase of testing...the hands on part.  He also found out that he had to take the hands on test on Sunday.  Kevin works in maintenance at Indiana Furniture, and Alvin wanted Kevin to show him a few things before he took the test.  Since we had tickets to go to the Monster Jam Truck show on Saturday, Alvin decided to take off work on Friday, so that Kevin could go over a few things with him.  He met Kevin at IFI that afternoon, and the kids and I went over the their house, after all the babysitting kids left.  As always the kids had fun playing together, and we all enjoyed visiting.

Saturday afternoon, we dropped Easton off at my parents' house, and took Owen and Avari to the Monster Jam truck show.  They were both really excited about going, and loved watching the monster trucks.  Owen said his favorite truck was the Iron Man one, while Avari said her favorite truck was the "puppy dog" one.
All 7 monster trucks
"Stone Crusher"
Owen's favorite truck
"Iron Man" doing a jump
Avari's favorite truck
The tongue actually went in and out!
"Monster Mutt Rottweiler" (the puppy dog) doing a jump.
"Bounty Hunter" and "Stone Crusher" competing in the finals.
"Stone Crusher" won!  He also won the freestyle event.
When they win both events they call it "double down".
In between events they had remote control monster trucks come out.
If you look at by the "Adv" on the "Advanced Auto Parts" sign you will see a truck that went of the ramp.
Most of them landed upside down, but a few would actually land on their wheels.
They also had BMXers perform tricks in between events.
This guy flipped upside down before landing upright.

Sunday morning, Alvin headed down to Toyota to take his test.  The kids and I went to Sunday school and church with my mom.  After church, we went to McDonald's with my parents.  Then my dad took Owen and Avari home with him, and Easton went with my mom and I to Walmart.  Alvin got home from his testing at the same time we were getting home from Jasper, so he stopped by my parents' house for a little while, before spending the rest of the evening at home.

No Water/Very Little Pressure
I never realized how much we rely on water until we had VERY low water pressure for 3-1/2 days!  I will never take water for granted again! :)
Sunday morning Easton woke up at 4:00 am wanting a bottle.  While I was making him one, I turned on the sink to find out that we had NO water!  When Alvin woke up, we still had no water, so he had to leave for his test without taking a shower (he wasn't too happy about that).  Finally, around 8:00 am we had VERY low pressure, but did have some water.  We didn't get our water back at full pressure until Wednesday afternoon!!  Thankfully, Emily and Adam let us use their shower one night!  After 3 days of taking crappy showers, it was REALLY great to be able to take a real shower again!  From what I heard a big water pipe blow, and they were having a hard time getting the parts in to fix it.  I'm just glad that they finally got it fixed!

Neck Surgery
This coming Wednesday, my mom is going to be having surgery on her neck to fix a herniated disc.  She has been dealing with the pain for 1-2 years now, and has decided to finally do something about it.  She is scheduled for surgery at 2:00pm on Wednesday.  Since it is being done as an outpatient surgery, she should get to come home that day yet.  We are hoping and praying that everything goes smoothly and that she has a speedy recovery.  Any prayers would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
