Relay For Life/ Texas Visitors

This past weekend was the 16th annual Dubois County Relay For Life.  Just like the last 16 years, our family had a team.  The theme this year was "Riding the Wave to a Cure for Cancer".  There were a lot of neat beach themed campsites.  The event started at 6:00 Friday evening and ended at 12:00 (noon) Saturday.  It's always a good time, and it's so great to be a part of something that will hopefully help find a cure for cancer one day soon!  The kids and I went over for the opening ceremonies on Friday.  We walked until the luminaria ceremony.  Afterwards, we ate the pizza, breadsticks, and fruit they provided.  Then we walked a few more laps before going home because it was around midnight.

Saturday morning, we got up early and went back over to the Relay.  They had a kiddie tractor pull again this year, so Owen participated again.  He actually pulled the weights pretty far this year.  He later to Alvin that he stopped pedaling because everyone was clapping and cheering, so he decided he didn't want to go any farther (leave it to my son to do something like that)!  The kids also got their faces painted, and jumped in a bounce house.  Between all the kiddie activities, we did walk more laps around the track.  The closing ceremonies started at 11:30.  The Dubois County Relay For Life raised $125,000!!

Looking at how far he pedaled!

(He wanted a tractor, but no one knew how to draw one.)
Avari the kitty cat.

After Relay was over, the kids and I went to Walmart and McDonalds with Emily and the girls.  Then we went home for some much needed naps before going to Deb and Joe's house to visit with my Great Uncle Donnie, Great Aunt Pearl, their daughter, Donna, and their great-grandson, Philip.  Alvin was putting in hay all day/night so he didn't get to come along.  It was really great seeing all of them, and we are so glad that Donna was able to drive them up to Indiana.

It was definitely a pool-full!

Sunday, we had a mass for my Grandma and Grandpa Schum.  Afterwards, Avari and I had two bridal showers to go to.  Our first one was for a friend, Kristin Hasenour, and the second one was for Alvin's cousin, Tony Betz's, fiance, Wilma.  Both showers were really nice, and both girls received a lot of useful gifts, to help them start off their married life.  Owen and Alvin went with my parents and my dad's family to The Black Buggy for lunch.  Owen said they got home they took a nap, and then played outside.

It was another busy weekend, but as always, it was a fun weekend that went by way too fast!

Baby Update
I had my 36 week appointment on Thursday (I was 36 weeks on Friday)!  It's really hard to believe that I only have 4 weeks left (or less)!!  This pregnancy has definitely seemed to fly by!!  They did my Group B Strep test, and checked my cervix, which was still pretty thick, so nothing much is happening so far.  I measured low this time, which Dr. Beckman said I did the same thing at this time with both Owen and Avari.  He said that he was going to have me get an ultrasound next week though, just to make sure every thing is okay.  Hopefully the baby will decide to stay in a little bit longer.  I go back again this Thursday, so we will see if anything has changed.  We are getting closer and closer to becoming a family of 5...ready or not!
~36 weeks~
