T-Ball, Mini Vacation, & an Easter Party

Owen started T-ball at the YMCA last Thursday.  I didn't get to take him because Avari had been throwing up earlier in the day, and I wasn't feeling the greatest.  Luckily mom was able to take him, so he wasn't too upset! :)  I was told that he did really well.  He was suppose to have his first game on Saturday, but it got cancelled because if the rain.  This was actually a good thing because he was going to have to miss it anyways, since we were going to be out of town.

Friday afternoon, we headed to Indianapolis for the weekend with the Schipps, and the Joneses.  Katie also rode along with Emily and Adam because she was meeting some friends in Indy, before heading to Pudure for Grand Prix weekend.  We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express with the Caribbean Cove indoor water park.  After we checked in on Friday, we changed and went to the water park.  The water park has 2 pools, a kiddie area, a hot tub, a lazy river and 3 water slides. The kiddie area has little slides, and big mushroom thing that has water coming out over the top of it,  a thing that has little cone shaped buckets that go around and randomly dump out water, a big bucket that dumps lots of water every few minutes, and wheels, so the kids can adjust how much water shoots out of certain areas. The kids had a blast!

Saturday, we all went to the Indianapolis Children's Museum.  We all had a good time, and were worn out by the time we left.  Owen's favorite parts were the dinosaur exhibit and the Superhero exhibit.  He especially liked dressing up like Batman and Superman!  He's least favorite part was the Barbie exhibit, which he made known, by asking several times why we had to go into it! :)  Avari really liked the Dora and Diego exhibit and the Superhero exhibit.  Our little girl loved dressing up in the Superman costume, but wouldn't even consider putting on a Barbie outfit in the Barbie exhibit....she wanted NOTHING to do with that!!  I guess that's what happens when you have an older brother that likes superheros! :)  After looking at the exhibits, we headed to the Playscape area.  The kids all loved playing in the water, the sand, and the other areas that they had there.  We ended our day at the museum by taking a ride on the carousel.  We picked up food on our way back to the hotel, and after eating we headed back down to the water park.  This time Owen, Addison, and Gavin got to ride on one of the big slides.  We didn't realize on Friday that they were tall enough to ride the yellow slide with an adult.  The guys went with them the first time, and they all LOVED it!!  They wanted to go down it again, so Emily, April, and Alvin took them because obviously, I couldn't take Owen. :)  After playing at the water park for a few hours, we headed back to our rooms, for showers and a snack before heading to bed.

Sunday, we packed up, Katie's friend dropped are off, and we all headed back home for the Hartings' Easter party.  It was also a surprise 30th birthday party for my cousin, Barbara (she will turn 30 on April 30).  The kids had a lot of fun playing together and even got to have an Easter egg hunt.  After the party, we went home to unpack and then to my parents' house to pick up Owen because he wanted to go home from the party with them.

It was a busy, but very fun weekend!  It was nice to take a mini vacation now, since we probably won't be taking one this summer, with the baby coming.
