Happy New Year!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

Our week was filled with lots of fun!  This is the first year I've had the week between Christmas and New Year's off since college, so we tried to get some things done.
Monday, we cleaned the house, including the upstairs, which had been neglected for quite awhile!  Afterwards, Alvin and Owen set up the farm set that Owen got from Grandma and Grandpa Schum.  Every evening since then, they have had to go upstairs and "feed" the cows :)  We also went outside to go sled riding and play in the snow.
They LOVED sled riding!
We camped out in our living room on Monday night.  This meant that Alvin fell asleep right away, and I was awake with the kids until 1:00am, before they calmed down enough to go to sleep. :)  They had a lot of fun though, so that's great!

Tuesday, we took the kids to GattiTown.  They had a lot of fun playing all the games, bouncing in the bounce house, and riding the cars.  Owen also loved riding on the Frog Hopper ride.  After the kids ran out of  money on the GattiTown cards, we went to Sam's Club, and then came home.

Wednesday, Alvin had to work on the farm.  The kids and I had chiropractor appointments, so we asked mom if she wanted to go along.  After the appointments, we met Katie at McDonald's for lunch.
Thursday, Alvin had to work during the day, so that afternoon, the kids and I went to April and Thad's house.  Emily and her girls, and Lindsey and her kids also came over so that all the kids could play together.  It had been awhile since Owen, Adi, Gavin, and Jillian got to play, so it was nice that they were able to get together.  It was also nice visiting with April and Lindsey, while the kids played.
Friday, Alvin had to work during the day again, so the kids and I went to the Schipps' house to help them get things ready for the night.
We rang in the new year with many of our friends, at Emily and Adam's house.  It was a lot of fun, and a great way to ring in the new year!  I'm pretty sure all the kids had just as much fun, as the adults did.  They all played so well together, and there were no arguments!  Katie even stopped in.  What made it even better, is the Adam W. got to ring in the new year with her (and us)!  It was via speaker phone, but at least it was something. :)  The new year started with Owen having a sleepover with Adi, Jillian, and Colin at Emily and Adam's house.  He said that he had a lot of fun at the sleepover, and Emily said that they all did really well, so that was good.

Saturday Danny and Nettie took the whole Boeglin family to the Golden Corral for our annual New Year's Day lunch.  It was very good, and I'm sure we all ate way too much. :)  Thanks for taking all of us every year, we really appreciate it.
After we filled out bellies, we met some of the Hartings cousins at Brooke and Josh's house to go tree hopping.  Our other tree hopping stops included April and Thad's house, Janelle and Randy's house, and Emily and Adam's house, before ending at our house.  It was a lot of driving (we drove from Boonville, to Huntingburg, to Jasper, to Ferdinand), but it was a lot of fun, and it was great getting together with everyone. Katie, and Barbara and Wes also came along, but since their homes are in Virginia and Kentucky, we decided to visit theirs. ;)

Sunday, we spend the afternoon at home.  Alvin took down the decorations outside, while Owen and I took down the decorations inside, and Avari took a nap.  That evening we went to the my parents house to visit.

We had a great 2010, with some of the highlights being:
  • Celebrating Avari's 1st birthday and Owen's 4th birthday.
  • Owen starting preschool.
  • Welcoming Kaden Gerald into the Boeglin family.
  • Welcoming several other new babies into both sides of our extended families, and our circle of friends.
  • Katie and Adam's wedding.
  • Being able to make the trip to Virginia to see Adam W. before he deployed, and to help Katie move back home.
  • Finding out we are expecting Baby Boeglin #3!!!
We hope everyone had a wonderful 2010!

We are looking forward to a exciting 2011, with some highlights being:
  • Celebrating Avari's 2nd birthday, and Owen's 5th birthday.
  • Owen starting 2 day per week preschool
  • Welcoming Adam W. back from Afghanistan!
