A Fun-Filled Weekend

We had a very busy and fun weekend.  Alvin took off work Friday night because he had Kregg Nordhoff's stag party (he's an usher).  Emily, Addison, Katie, Owen, Avari, and I went to McDonald's and to see Shrek 4.  Owen loves Shrek, and was so excited to see it!  This was the first time Avari went to the movies, and she did very well!  She sat through the whole movie!  After the movie, we went to Dairy Queen.  It was great spending the evening with my sisters and most of the kids.

Saturday morning Avari and I did a benefit 5K with Emily and April.  It was for a baby named Sawyer who was born 3 months premature.  His mom and I went to VUJC together.  She said that he is doing great now!  After the walk, we met Alvin, Owen, Katie, and my parents at Owen's last t-ball game.  They had one on Thursday evening too.  At both games, they pitched the balls to them.  If they didn't hit it after three tries, they got to hit it off the tee.  Owen hit the ball every time they pitched it to him!!  It was fun watching him play t-ball, and he had fun.

After Owen's game, Alvin went back to his brother, Danny's, house to help put a new roof on it.  That evening I had Robyn (Alvin's cousin) bachelorette party.  It was in Jasper this time.  Nettie was nice enough to watch the kids for us.  She also watched Kennedy.  She said that Owen, Avari, Kennedy, and Lance had a lot of fun playing together.

Sunday, Alvin helped Danny on his roof again.  The kids and I went to Holiday World with Emily, April, Lindsey, Janelle, Randy, and their kids.  Owen was so happy to finally be going to Holiday World again!  he had a lot of fun!  Avari wasn't too thrilled with it because she was hot and really tired.  Luckily (for me and her), Emily had to leave early for a baby shower, so she took Avari to my parents' house.  They said that she took a very long (and very much needed) nap.  Hopefully, she will enjoy it more next time.

That evening, we went to Danny and Nettie's for supper, and to check out the progress on their roof.  It looks really nice.  Owen and Avari had fun playing with Lance again.
