More Baseball / A Couple of Parties

Last Monday, April 29, Owen had his first baseball game.  Since Avari had gymnastics until 6:15 and Owen's game started at 6:00, I took Avari and Easton to gymnastics, while Alvin took Owen to baseball.  This way Alvin could help out on the field.  (I'm SO glad that Toyota went to a later start because getting the kids where they needed to be would be a lot more difficult if Alvin had to leave at 5:45, instead of 7:00.)  After gymnastics, we headed to the park to watch Owen.  He did really well, and hit it of the pitching machine every time.  They don't keep score, and everyone gets to bat every inning.  If they don't hit it off the machine within 3 pitches, then they hit off of the tee.  While they don't count outs, and player can't strike out, they are encouraged to tag players out, and if the ball makes it to the base before the player, he is out.  He got to play first base and shortstop.  He really likes baseball, and always says that he wishes they would have games every night. :)

The little league plays games on Mondays and Wednesdays, but Owen's team had the night off on Wednesday.  (There are 5 teams, so the other 4 played each other.)  Since Owen didn't have a game, we decided to watch Adi play her softball game.  She played good.  Owen said her games are fun because (in his words), they have the person that sits behind the plate, with all that stuff on them, and the keep score. :)

Thursday evening, Avari had t-ball practice.  The boys went with me this week, so Owen played at the playground, and Easton sat in the stroller, while Avari practiced.  After her practice was over, the kids played on the playground awhile, before heading home.

On Friday, Lindsey had a 31-party.  My parents were nice enough to watch my kids, so I didn't have to take them along.
Saturday morning, Avari was suppose to have a t-ball game, and then we were going to go to the Chalk Walk in Jasper.  Both of them ended up getting cancelled because of the rain.  So instead, we spent the morning at home.  The kids spent most of the morning making cards and pictures for my mom's birthday.  That evening we met my family at the Legion for supper to celebrate my mom's birthday (May 6).  After we ate, we went back to my parents' house for a M&M/chocolate chip cookie cake that Emily and the girls made.

Happy Birthday Mamaw Schum!

That girl and her looks!

Sunday we went to church, and then headed to Jasper for lunch and Walmart shopping.  We spent the evening at home, playing and getting things ready for the week.
