Thursday, April 28, Owen had t-ball practice. They had it at the YMCA because the storms we had for the last 10 days, left the ball fields pretty muddy. They also had individual and team pictures that night. Friday evening, the kids and I went to my parents' house for supper. It was finally nice outside (and not raining), so we grilled hamburgers, and played outside.

After Owen's game, we went to Jasper to get our anniversary gift. If you remember, we sold our tan Grand Am that had Alvin always drove to work, and he was driving the black Grand Am. We had been debating whether or not we should buy a new car that gets better gas mileage, or if Alvin should just keep driving the black car for awhile. We finally decided to buy a new car because all the Toyota employee discounts on new car purchases was ending on May 2. With the earthquake/tsunami disaster in Japan, they are suspending discounts until further notice. We didn't want to take the chance of something happening to the black Grand Am, and sticking a bunch of money into it, since it already has a lot of miles on it, so we decided to buy a 2011 Toyota Camry. We are really glad with the decision we made, and hopefully Alvin will be able to drive this car for another 200,000+ miles! It was actually a family affair at Uebelhor and Sons that day. Katie was there with my parents to pick up her and Adam's new Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior truck! It is also a really nice truck! I'm pretty sure this last month of Adam's deployment is going to be longer than the other five because he is really excited about the new truck, and can't wait to see and drive it!! Katie had to send him pictures of it as soon as she got home with it! Since my parents were there, they took the kids with them to McDonalds, so that we could sign the papers for our car. By the time we got done there, they were done eating, so they said that they would just take the kids home, so we could get something to eat. We ate, and then went to get another (unplanned) anniversary gift. Before Owen's t-ball game, my cell phone's screen went black. I could hear it turn on and off, but the screen remained completely black. It ended up being that the screen had gone out in it. Luckily, I was due for an upgrade, so I could get a new phone at a discounted price. After we, took care of that we went back to my parents' house, and spent the evening there. Even though we didn't really do anything, it was a nice anniversary. I just hope that our next one isn't as expensive as this one turned out to be!! haha
Taking a ride in Katie and Adam's new truck!
Sunday, after church, Emily, Katie, mom, and I went shopping in Evansville. Emily and I needed to get summer clothes for the kids, and several stores were having sales. Since it was raining again, it was a good day to go. We also stopped by Sam's while we were down there. While, I was in Evansville, Alvin took the kids to his parents' house for awhile, and then to Danny and Nettie's house. He said they had fun playing with Lance.
