Happy Halloween!! / Soccer / Happy 2nd Birthday Lance!!

A cute little cat and Spider-man say
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

On Oct. 21, Owen started Kinder Kickers at the YMCA.  They have practice every Thursday evening, and games every Saturday morning until Nov. 20.  Owen loves going to the practices, but the games are a totally different story!  He doesn't find them very fun at all.  He has only played soccer at home before now, so he didn't really know what to expect.  He isn't too keen on the fact that all the kids are running after the ball, and not  everyone gets to kick the ball.  He does love being the goalie though!  Hopefully, he will get more comfortable with it as the weeks go on.  Oh, Emily and I get to the be coaches for their team.  They were one of two teams that didn't have coaches, so we decided to fill the spots.  Luckily you don't have to know anything about soccer, just how to read (I asked the program director, and that's what she said) :).

The last two weekends we have been busy doing Halloween things.  Saturday, Oct. 23, we went to Brooke and Josh's house for a Halloween party with family and friends.  It was great seeing the kids in their costumes, and only having to go to one place for everyone to see them.  Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun.
This past Saturday, Oct. 30, we took the kids trick-or-treating at my Great Aunt Aline's house, with the Schipps and Katie.  She loved seeing them, and they loved playing with the kittens she had.  Luckily, she has four of them, so they each had their own cat to play with.  Even better, none of them asked to take one home with them. :)  This past Sunday (Halloween), we took the kids trick-or-treating again.  They had a blast trick-or-treating!!  By the time we were done, Owen and Avari were exhausted, but the next day, they asked if we were going again! :)  Avari definitely knew what happens when you go trick-or-treating too.  While Owen would say "Trick-or-Treat", when someone answered the door, Avari would say "Candy".  She has never been shy about telling someone what she wants! haha

This past weekend we also welcomed Katie back home for the week, and went to Lance's birthday party.

Dad picked Katie up from the airport Friday morning.  Mom and dad are taking her back to the airport this Saturday.  It's great having her home, and we are trying to squeeze in as much time with her as we can.  I know Owen and Avari love having her home again.  When she's around, they want her to help them with things, or they at least have to make a point of showing her what they are doing. :)  Friday night, my parents watched the kids while Katie and I ran to Jasper.  Saturday evening we went to Lance's 2nd birthday party.  He had a cute Veggie  Tales themed party.  Owen and Avari had a lot of fun playing the games Nettie had, bouncing in the bounce house, and playing with all the other kids.  Sunday, before we went trick-or-treating we went to my parents' house for lunch.  Katie said that the one thing she wants while she's home is something grilled, so dad grilled chicken.  They don't have a grill yet, and probably won't get one until after Adam returns from his deployment, so they haven't been able to make anything on the grill.  She really misses that.
Happy 2nd Birthday Lance!!

We had a great time trick-or-treating and partying!  We are also enjoying having Katie around this week!
