Strassenfest

We spent this last weekend at the Jasper Strassenfest.  Friday night, the kids and I met the Schipps and the Joneses there.  Saturday night, Alvin went with us, and we met the Joneses, Barbara, Aubrey, Deb, and Joe there.  Owen had fun riding the rides.  Avari loved the little carousel, but wasn't too fond of the the swings, and boats.  Friday, I thought is was because she was just tired, but she did the same thing on Saturday evening.  She would be okay at first, and then start crying and wanting off.  That's when I remembered that she's not too fond of swings (oops!).  She likes them for a couple of minutes and then she's ready to get off them.  Saturday night the kids got bracelets from someone we know, so Owen had fun riding ride, after ride, after ride!  He said that his favorite ride was the big slide.  Gavin must have liked it too because those two went down it at least 3-4 times!  Then we had to make them ride something else....they moved onto a big inflatable slide! :)
Sunday afternoon, we went to the Strassenfest parade.  It was a nice parade, and he kids had fun watching it, and catching candy!

Monday night, we went to visit my cousin, Lisa.  She is recovering well, after having part of her vertebrae cemented together because she slipped off a rope and landed on some rocks.  She is getting around better, but still moving slowly.  She just taking it one day at a time.  We are glad she is doing better!
