Bitty Basketball Finale / 12 Month Check-Up

Avari had her 12 month check-up last Thursday, and everything check out great!  She now weighs 20lb 12oz (50th percentile) and is 29-1/2" long (75th percentile).  Dr. Lusk said that her growth and weight slowed down earlier than most infants, but she is still growing and gaining weight, so there is nothing to worry about.  He said that most kids slow down at about 12 months, whereas, Avari started slowing down at 9 months.  Other than that, she is doing great!

Friday night we went to my parents' house.  Adam W., Katie's boyfriend, was in town for the weekend, so my parents had us over for supper.  It was nice seeing and visiting with him.  He was even able to make it to Avari's birthday party, before he had to leave.

Saturday morning Owen had his final bitty basketball game.  He was a little dissappointed to hear it was ending, but excited to find out that he would start playing t-ball in a month. :)  Since it was the last day, they played a special game, where they got at ask an adult to play with them.  Of course, Owen picked Alvin. ;) After the game, they had a special recogintion ceremony.  The coach announced the player's name and they received a medal.  Owen really enjoyed playing basketball!  He even learned a few things about the sport, like how to shot, dribble, and pass the ball.  He also learned a little about defense.

After Owen's game, we spent the rest of the day (and night) getting the house ready for Avari's big birthday party!
